Position: Nurse Manager- CICU (Full Time, Nights)

Overview

Responsible for the management of quality patient and staff, including internal and external customers, within their designated scope of responsibility (unit, department, or services). This role involves ensuring effective operations, quality outcomes, and patient‑centered care.

Job

Specific Duties
  • Acts as a supplemental Operations Administrator when needed to supervise shift‑to‑shift operations.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and internal/external customers to create collaborative work relationships that drive performance and quality outcomes.
  • Identifies LEAN projects and selects tools to review and evaluate current process states.
  • Manages budgets effectively, reporting variances greater than 5% to the Director, and monitors cost containment while enhancing revenue streams per hospital policies.
  • Directly manages personnel from hiring to separation, supervising staff through orientation, training, and annual performance reviews within established guidelines.
  • Oversees day‑to‑day operations, reacting effectively to unplanned circumstances and challenges while ensuring quality services and patient‑directed care.
  • Performs administrative duties such as collecting, analyzing, and reporting data pertinent to the department.
  • Facilitates educational programs, training staff in related skills, values, and career development to ensure employee engagement and retention.
  • Coordinates the unit's customer‑service indicators, including preparation, analysis, and submission of required reports.
  • Conducts daily patient and staff rounds, providing updates on needed improvements and successes.
  • Establishes standards, provides training, and enforces compliance of the departmental hospital customer‑service program, while recognizing staff contributions and embedding a culture of service excellence.
Minimum

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure within the State of Florida or Multi‑State Enhanced Nursing License Compact (eNLC), maintained in active and good standing throughout employment.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Three to five years of RN experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Two years of pediatric nursing experience, including charge nursing preferred.
  • Career development certification after two years preferred.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills to address department issues and maintain clinical practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Competency in nursing skills required for the designated scope of responsibility.
