Step outside the traditional hospital system and serve as the central medical resource for a vibrant summer camp. This role empowers you to practice with high autonomy, managing daily pediatric health, acute triage, and preventative care while enjoying the unique rhythm of a community-focused, outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive medical attention, encompassing emergency triage, routine first aid, and medication distribution
- Maintain secure, up-to-date, and highly accurate health logs and incident reports for all campers and faculty
- Perform initial wellness evaluations during intake and continually monitor community health trends all season
- Act as the primary medical liaison, updating parents and guardians regarding camper health with professionalism and clarity
- Partner with camp directors to enforce safety protocols and navigate any emerging clinical situations seamlessly
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or valid Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) credential in good standing
- Valid, current certifications in First Aid and CPR
- Commitment and willingness to live on-site for the full duration of the summer program
- Highly collaborative demeanor, capable of adapting easily to a shared, community-living environment
- Previous nursing background in school clinics, pediatric units, or residential youth programs
- Strong capacity for autonomous clinical decision-making without the immediate infrastructure of a hospital
