Job SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Recovery Room (PACU) team. The RN will provide specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Minimum Qualifications- Current and valid Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (American Heart Association).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (American Heart Association).
- Minimum of one (1) year of recent PACU, Critical Care, ICU, ER, or Surgical Services experience preferred.
- Certification in a nursing specialty (e.g., Critical Care, Psychiatry).
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Critical thinking and clinical decision-making
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation and emergency response
- Airway management and post-anesthesia recovery care
- Medication administration and IV therapy
- Patient assessment and monitoring
- Time management and organizational skills
- Effective communication and teamwork
- Patient and family education
- Infection prevention and patient safety practices
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in high-acuity environments
- Assess, monitor, and care for patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
- Administer prescribed medications, IV therapy, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
- Identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, anesthesiologists, surgical staff, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional nursing standards at all times.
- Day Shift
- Weekends/Holiday rotation and on-call coverage may be required based on departmental needs
