Registered Nurse - RN - Emergency Department Full Time (No New grads)
Schedule:
7:45 PM–7:45 AM, 6 shifts per 4‑week schedule. Work two weekend shifts per 4‑week schedule and two holidays per year (one major and one minor) as defined by the Department Director. Holidays worked are paid at time and a half.
The role is based at North Shore Medical Center, where continuous nursing, medical, and other health and social services are provided 24/7 under physician‑directed care and RN supervision. As a member of the Emergency Department team, you will provide direct nursing care in settings requiring complex assessments and interventions.
Primary Responsibilities- Collect comprehensive health data from patients.
- Triage patients using age‑appropriate, developmentally appropriate, and culturally sensitive practices.
- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
- Identify expected outcomes and create individualized plans of care.
- Implement, coordinate, and educate to promote patient health and a safe practice environment.
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
- Communicate effectively in a variety of formats across all areas of practice.
- Demonstrate leadership in the professional practice setting and within the profession.
- Maintain knowledge and competence reflecting current nursing practice.
- Apply evidence‑based practice and scientific knowledge in emergency nursing, ensuring care is based on patient‑specific needs as described in the department’s Scope of Service.
- Remain in a constant state of alertness and work safely at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Constant use of speech for oral communication.
- Constant standing and walking, frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0‑25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, reaching, keyboard use, and data entry.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for various distances.
- Frequent use of smell to detect odors.
- Frequent use of hearing for oral communication and alarms.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25‑50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting/moving of patients and bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive motions.
- Current Florida RN License
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Basic arrhythmia skills
- Completion of ICU or ER course preferred
- Ability to communicate in English
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Must pass background and drug‑test screenings.
- Hourly pay negotiable based on experience with competitive market rates.
