Miami is a major center and a leader in finance, commerce, culture, media, entertainment, the arts, and international trade. In 2012, Miami was classified as an Alpha-World City in the World Cities Study Group's inventory. In 2010, Miami ranked seventh in the United States in terms of finance, commerce, culture, entertainment, fashion, education, and other sectors. It ranked thirty-third among global cities.

In 2008, Forbes magazine ranked Miami "America's Cleanest City", for its year-round good air quality, vast green spaces, clean drinking water, clean streets and city-wide recycling programs. According to a 2009 Banking study of 73 world cities, Miami was ranked as the richest city in the United States, and the world's fifth-richest city in terms of purchasing power. Miami is nicknamed the "Capital of Latin America", is the second-largest U.S. city with a Spanish-speaking majority, and the largest city with a Cuban-American plurality.

Downtown Miami is home to the largest concentration of international banks in the United States, and many large national and international companies. The Civic Center is a major center for hospitals, research institutes, medical centers, and biotechnology industries. For more than two decades, the Port of Miami, known as the "Cruise Capital of the World", has been the number one cruise passenger port in the world.

It accommodates some of the world's largest cruise ships and operations, and is the busiest port in both passenger traffic and cruise lines.

The Miami VA Healthcare System's parent facility, the Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center, is located on 26 acres in the Miami Civic Center Medical Complex. The Miami VA Healthcare System is an accredited comprehensive medical provider, providing general medical, surgical, inpatient, and outpatient mental health services. The Miami VA Healthcare System includes an AIDS/HIV center, a prosthetic treatment center, a spinal cord injury rehabilitative center, and a Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC).

The Miami VA Healthcare System is recognized as a Center of Excellence in Spinal Cord Injury Research, Substance Abuse Treatment, and is a recognized Chest Pain Center. The Miami VA Healthcare System operates 372 hospital beds, including a four-story community living center attached to the main facility. The Miami VA is also responsible for two major satellite Outpatient Clinics in Broward County and Key West and five Community-Based Outpatient Clinics in Homestead, Key Largo, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, and Deerfield Beach.

Assess, coordinate, facilitate, deliver, and evaluate care for infant to geriatric patients using the nursing process. Possess strong organizational and administrative skills. Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry, and automated medical records. Maintain high level of professionalism oriented toward customer service. Outpatient primary care aid station nurse manager. Primary facilitator of clinical services and medical administrative duties.

Work directly with aid station manager.

Provide the following services and in strict compliance with standing orders and protocols set forth, but will not necessarily be limited to the following:

• Coordinate patient care through a continuum and facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to care, quality and cost effectiveness.
• Will demonstrate proper preparation for patients for treatments and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate plans/actions and collaborate with a diverse healthcare team for the benefit of the patient, family, and organization. Effectively educate patients and families regarding involvement in the plan of care, promotion of self-care, management of symptoms, and follow-up care.
• Demonstrate excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activity.
• Demonstrated ability to recognize adverse signs and symptoms and reacts quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
• Demonstrated ability to obtain, assess, and report critical lab or diagnostic results to patient's physician in a timely manner.
• Demonstrated ability to act on all medical and therapeutic orders in a timely manner.

Duties related to management of front desk/reception, but not limited to:

• Facilitate patient intake and flow of care through the clinic, organize and maintain hard-copy medical and dental records, manage aid station medical data-base, manage clinical appointment calendar, place orders in the electronic medical records and review plans to improve efficiency, safety and accountability of medical services and materials.
