Van Driver ( CNA )
Job Summary:
The Transportation Aide ( CNA ) is to provide safe transport of patients, personal effects,requisitions, specimens, charts, and miscellaneous items and assist with patient transport activities as required.
- The Transportation Aide is responsible for transporting patients and/or specimens upon request
- Transports patients usingwheelchairs and with stretcher transports
- Transports specimens to the laboratory, and delivers blood and blood products in a timely manner
- Picks up slides for physicians to review from laboratory as requested
- Obtains supplies fromcentral supply as requested
- Participates/uses the automated systems in a timely and accurate manner to assist with patientthroughout
- Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific tothose needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired,etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/orprimary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy,etc.)
- Assists with environmentalduties in departments or units including pick up and disposal ofrecycling/trash receptacles; also linen removal from laundry bins to properdisposal area such as chutes for collection as requested
- Adheres to the standardsidentified in the facility’s Organizational Competencies
Education and Experience:
- Driver must be a minimum of 21 years of age to drive
- Must have active Certified Nursing Assistant(CNA) License and license must be maintained as a condition of employment
- Acceptable history of safe driving as noted through a3-year driving record check
- Stretcher experience is required for this position
