American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a pediatric and adult congenital cardiac surgery unit, requiring perioperative and cardiac surgery experience along with FL or compact RN licensure.

Requirements
  • Active FL RN license or multistate eNLC license in good standing
  • AHA BLS and AHA PALS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Perioperative nursing experience required
  • Cardiac surgery experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with complex cardiac procedures and cardiopulmonary bypass preferred
  • Pediatric, congenital, or adult congenital cardiac experience preferred
  • CNOR or CPN certification preferred
Responsibilities
  • Perioperative role within a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) unit
  • Cares for pediatric and adult congenital cardiac patients undergoing complex cardiac surgical procedures
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Participates in an alternating 1st-call and 2nd-call rotation
  • Performs scrub and/or circulating duties during complex cardiac cases
  • Coordinates with cardiac surgeons, anesthesia, perfusion, and surgical technologists
  • Prepares and manages the operating room, ensuring cardiac instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies are available
  • Maintains sterile technique, surgical counts, time-outs, and accurate documentation
  • Anticipates intraoperative needs and responds appropriately during complex or emergent cases
  • Supports quality improvement, infection prevention, and patient safety initiatives
  • Works closely with a multidisciplinary surgical team including surgeons, anesthesia, and perfusion staff
