Ransom Everglades School seeks a dynamic and reliable Substitute School Nurse who will provide temporary health services for Middle and Upper School students (grades 6–12), stepping in during the regular nurse's absence to ensure a safe campus health environment.
Responsibilities- Evaluate student illnesses and injuries
- Administer over-the-counter and prescribed medications as needed/ordered
- Respond to acute medical emergencies
- Maintain accurate medical documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, faculty, and administrators while strictly upholding HIPAA and FERPA confidentiality standards.
This is an on-call position designed to provide support when our regular team member is unavailable. The School is unable to guarantee a set number of hours each week, and the role does not offer employer-sponsored benefits.
Qualifications- Hold an active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current CPR/AED certification, with background in pediatrics, adolescent health, or school nursing preferred
- Strong clinical assessment abilities and adaptability in a dynamic independent school setting
- Clear communication with teenagers and parents
- Capacity to make sound, independent decisions in emergency situations
