Overview

Chen Med is a physician‑led, family‑owned company focused on transforming the delivery of care for seniors. The Clinician Licensing Specialist will manage the full lifecycle of professional licenses for our clinical providers (MDs, DOs, NPs, PAs) across multiple states, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting provider onboarding.

Responsibilities
  • Manage initial license applications and renewals for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants at all Chen Med locations.
  • Process and maintain Controlled Substance and DEA registrations for all clinical providers.
  • Develop FCVS profiles for physicians, ensuring all required information is complete and up‑to‑date.
  • Submit FCVS profiles and other documentation to state medical licensing boards in compliance with state‑specific requirements and deadlines.
  • Monitor license expiration dates and proactively manage renewal timelines to prevent any lapses.
  • Maintain comprehensive tracking systems and databases for all provider licenses, ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date records.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with state medical board requirements and CMS regulations governing Medicare Advantage operations.
  • Develop and maintain standardized processes and checklists for licensing activities to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with providers to gather required documentation, transcripts, and verification materials needed for licensing applications.
  • Interface with state medical boards, licensing agencies, and third‑party verification services to facilitate licensing processes.
  • Conduct monthly audits of clinician licensing to efficiently manage active and inactive licenses.
  • Prepare regular reports on licensing status and compliance metrics for leadership review.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for providers regarding licensing questions, requirements, and status updates.
  • Guide new hires through the licensing process with urgency and care to support rapid provider onboarding.
  • Communicate proactively with providers about upcoming renewals and requirements to prevent delays.
  • Coordinate with credentialing teams to ensure seamless provider onboarding and licensing alignment.
  • Stay current with licensing requirements across all states where Chen Med operates and monitor regulatory changes.
  • Manage interstate licensing processes and reciprocity applications to support provider mobility.
  • Support Chen Med's expansion into new markets by providing licensing expertise and requirements analysis.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and present recommendations to leadership stakeholders.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and contribute to special projects as required.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of state medical licensing requirements and processes across multiple states.
  • Knowledge of DEA and controlled substance licensing regulations and renewal processes.
  • Knowledge of Medicare Advantage and CMS compliance requirements related to provider licensing.
  • Understanding of credentialing requirements such as NCQA, AAAHC, and URAC.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive licensing and provider information.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and follow‑up skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Database management skills including querying, reporting, and document generation.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities simultaneously to meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with external regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other related software.
  • Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationwide up to 10% of the time.
  • Spoken and written fluency in English.
Education and Experience Criteria

Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare licensing, credentialing, or regulatory compliance.

Pay Range

The posted pay range is $20.20 – $28.83 hourly. Final compensation will depend on experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonuses or commissions.
