Advanced Turbine Systems (ATS) is seeking a QC Surveillance Inspector to provide independent quality oversight for CFM
56 engines and modules throughout the maintenance, repair, and overhaul process. This position ensures all work performed at ATS complies with FAA regulations, ATS Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), OEM data, and approved engineering instructions.
The QC Surveillance Inspector plays a critical role in protecting airworthiness, maintaining regulatory compliance, and reinforcing ATS’s standard of disciplined execution across shop and field operations.
Quality Surveillance & Oversight- Perform in-process surveillance inspections on CFM
56 engines and modules, including: - Balancing and testing activities
- Verify maintenance is performed strictly in accordance with current, approved technical data (AMM, CMM, EMM, SBs, ADs, EO/MO).
- Ensure compliance with:
- ATS RSM and QCM
- ATS SOPs, work instructions, and inspection procedures
- Identify, document, and report non-conformances, procedural deviations, and quality escapes.
- Initiate and support Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and root cause investigations.
- Review and verify:
- Work orders and task cards
- Inspection buy-backs and sign-offs
- Engine and module build records
- Traceability, certifications, and LLP documentation
- Ensure documentation accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Support airworthiness determinations prior to final inspection and Return to Service (RTS).
- Support the Chief Inspector during:
- FAA surveillance and inspections
- Customer and third-party audits
- Serve as a technical quality resource to technicians and leads while maintaining inspection independence.
- Assist with corrective actions and preventive quality initiatives.
- Minimum 3–5 years experience inspecting or maintaining CFM
56 engines and/or modules in an FAA Part 145 environment. - Strong working knowledge of:
- CFM
56 engine architecture and module build processes - Inspection methods, limits, and acceptance criteria
- Ability to interpret and apply OEM manuals, engineering data, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
- Prior experience in QC Surveillance or Quality Assurance
- Familiarity with NDT processes and inspection requirements
- Experience supporting FAA and customer audits
- Authority to stop work due to quality or compliance concerns
- Authority to reject non-conforming work, parts, or documentation
- Authority to elevate findings to the Chief Inspector and Quality Management
