Specialist, Quality Assurance

Job Overview

The role involves conducting audits and inspections, investigating issues, ensuring regulatory compliance, monitoring adherence to QA processes, implementing corrective actions, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and providing QA support and liaison across various operational areas.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct internal audits of maintenance, operational, and safety systems to ensure compliance with regulations, international standards, and company policies.
  • Investigate incidents and discrepancies, analyze trends, and participate in root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences and create reports.
  • Verify that all activities and documentation adhere to applicable aviation regulations, safety standards, and other requirements.
  • Monitor adherence to QA processes, identify gaps, and collaborate with multiple teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Follow up on, monitor, and ensure the timely completion of corrective and preventive actions identified during audits and SMS reporting.
  • Support the development and implementation of the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement programs and procedures using statistical quality control, lean manufacturing concepts, and Six‑Sigma tools and analyses.
  • Provide QA support and serve as liaison with operations, repair centers, engineering, and other areas.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of technical engine maintenance or repair shop experience.
  • Open-mindedness to address culture change and a willingness to share best practices within a safety culture mindset.
  • Ability to support shop floor employees and other support groups (customer support, engineering) with QA and regulatory-related issues.
  • Experience with aviation maintenance, operations, and quality assurance programs.
  • Experience with investigation tools and methodologies such as 6S, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), and 5 Whys for problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills for writing reports and collaborating with various teams and regulatory bodies.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
