Job Description
The Quality Inspector will perform visual inspection operations including in‑process, final inspection, and First Article Inspections (FAI) as appropriate. They must be familiar with hand tools, magnification, and assist in verifying test data and documentation.
$2000 Sign‑on Bonus
Responsibilities- Dimensional inspection of aerospace machined components
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102
- Use hand measurement tools
- Perform CMM inspection process
- Apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and blueprint interpretation
- Conduct final, receiving, dimensional, visual, surface finish, and assembly inspections
- Read and interpret quality policies, procedures, and blueprints
- Process warehouse materials under established guidelines
- Support corrective actions and root‑cause identification
- Other duties as assigned
- Experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace machined components
- Experience in performing FAI’s per AS9102
- Proficiency with hand measurement tools and gauges
- Microsoft Outlook and Excel experience
- Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and blueprint interpretation
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
- Experience with quality inspection tools and equipment
- Experience in RCCA and problem solving
- Ability to handle complex situations and solve problems
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and decision‑making skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Can work in a team environment
- Can remain seated for up to 5 hours
- Fluent in English (reading and writing)
- Professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
- Self‑motivated and organized
- Ability to manage multiple objectives simultaneously
- 3+ years experience as a quality inspector or technician
- 3+ years experience in an aerospace manufacturing facility
- 3+ years experience with FAI’s, GD&T, and blueprint interpretation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Effective communication skills
- Detail‑oriented
- Combination of education and experience may be considered
- Vision requirements:
Near Vision meeting orthorater 8 (95% or Jaeger #2 at 12 in), Far vision meeting orthorater 4 (76%) or Snellen 20/50, 6 of 9 orthorater plates - Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
- Perform work efficiently with minimal direction
- Light lifting and sitting for prolonged periods
- Read printed documents, computer screens, and observe others
- Typical office environment with quality management and SMS teams
- Standard hours Monday—Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; occasional overtime
- Occasional travel to suppliers; lift up to 20 pounds
- Must meet vision requirements listed above
$25.00–$40.00 per hour (salary information is a general guideline; factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, and market may affect the offer).
