Summary:
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations across the supply chain. This role works closely with vendors, purchasing, logistics, warehouse, and production teams to maintain standards, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain vendor documentation and ensure compliance with food safety regulations
- Track incoming purchase orders and coordinate quality documentation prior to shipment arrival
- Manage regulatory holds and update system status to ensure timely resolution
- Conduct receiving inspections, collect samples, and complete quality control reports
- Evaluate vendor samples and document quality findings
- Investigate customer and vendor claims, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate documentation and generate reports for leadership review
- Review microbiological testing results and ensure compliance with SOPs
- Support validation processes and approve deviations or investigations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality and compliance issues
- Assist with raw material and component release processes as needed
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- 2+ years of experience in quality control, preferably within food manufacturing
- Experience in manufacturing or production scheduling environments preferred
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to collaborate across departments and work with external vendors
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Salary: $45K-$50K
