IntroductionThe Construction QA/QC Manager will lead the implementation and management of quality control plans across projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, plans, and governmental requirements from project commencement through close‑out and commissioning.
Responsibilities- Implement and maintain the Corporate Quality Management Program across all areas of the business and ensure compliance.
- Expand and develop standard operating procedures and processes to achieve the highest levels of quality associated with delivering a completed construction project.
- Assist with the creation of project‑specific Quality Management Plans and verify implementation of each plan.
- Assist with the development of Quality metrics that empower teams to review information on quality execution; work cross‑functionally with operations to address any trends.
- Manage a team of Quality Managers and/or professionals to execute the administrative tasks related to reporting site evaluations, quality reporting requirements, and site‑specific quality planning.
- Conduct random site evaluations, including follow‑up evaluations to ensure corrections have been made to deficiencies.
- Create mechanisms for sharing best practices and quality issues across project teams and among all quality personnel.
- Act as a resource for field operations with compliance on Federal and State regulatory requirements as well as local quality regulations including ADA, ASHE, NFPA, UL, ASTM, and FBC.
- Develop and update comprehensive training curriculum for all field operations, Quality Department staff, and subcontractors.
- Stay abreast of trends and evolving best practices by participating in organizations and forums dedicated to Quality. Keep the company informed of the latest updates on best practices and standards.
- Represent Suffolk with owners, architects, consultants, government authorities, vendors and subcontractors.
- Build effective working relationships with clients, trade partners, and the Suffolk project team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Quality Management or a demonstrated equivalent field.
- 5+ years of experience in related construction fields.
- Solid understanding of means and methods of construction.
- Proficiency with computer software used in the construction industry.
- Working knowledge of national and state code and quality regulations/standards.

- Excellent organizational skills to manage the many details necessary for successful construction.
- Must possess effective and strong communication skills.
- Ability to become part of a team and embrace the team concept.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Works in the St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands office.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
