Post Doctoral Associate Position in Immune Metabolism. The laboratory of Dr. Kiran Kurmi in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (link) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to study the role of mitochondria in immune response. The candidate will engage in cutting-edge research employing molecular and chemical biology techniques, including LC-MS metabolomics, flow cytometry, mouse model studies, genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics.
The fellow will investigate the role of mitochondria in T cells and must have prior experience with mouse models and immunological techniques. They will have the opportunity to learn and perform LC-MS metabolomics using the Thermo Orbitrap Exploris 240 Mass Spectrometer. The fellow will contribute to innovative research using advanced molecular and cellular biology techniques, maintain a strong understanding of current principles, latest publications, methods, and advancements in the field.
Understand and interpret research protocols and ensure all research is conducted according to good research practices. Will be responsible for preparing research reports and manuscripts for publication and for successfully completing assigned project(s). The fellow should work independently, lead project(s), troubleshoot issues, present their work and train other lab members as part of their postdoctoral training. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
