Position Summary
The Research Associate 1, SOM (TEMP) supports research activities for the assigned division by conducting laboratory experiments on assigned research projects. The incumbent operates with the goal of advancing expertise through continued education, training, and research.
Core Job Functions- Understand and interpret research protocols and procedures
- Participate in the publication of significant results
- Maintain an overview of relevant research findings
- Ensure all research is undertaken according to good research practice
- Keep abreast of current publications related to methods, techniques, and developments within the area of research
- Collect, prepare, analyze, dissect, and evaluate specimens or tissue cultures
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Perform a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies
- Perform calculations to complete research test results, collect data, and perform statistical analysis of laboratory results
- Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets
