Plant Genetic Research Scientist. Miami Move Collective

We are seeking a dedicated Plant Genetic Research Scientist to drive advancements in crop production and quality. The successful candidate will:

• Generate innovative genetic knowledge and products aimed at enhancing crop production while minimizing farm inputs, such as pesticides, water, and fertilizers.
• Create resilient crop varieties that ensure stable yields, boost producer profits, and contribute to stronger food security in the U.S.
• Characterize and identify relevant plant germplasm for focused research.
• Identify and develop molecular markers that can accurately predict crop performance.
• Conduct high-throughput phenotyping and genotyping to quantitatively assess desirable traits in plants.
• Utilize traditional breeding techniques, marker-assisted selection, and genome editing to enhance crop varieties.
• Apply interdisciplinary methods, including population biology, to inform effective breeding decisions and management strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders by transferring knowledge, tools, germplasm, and genetic markers, benefiting breeders across industry and academia.
• Implement conventional and cutting-edge technologies to tackle unique challenges faced by stakeholders.
• Analyze, interpret, and share research findings through presentations, publications, and technical reports.
