Postdoctoral Associate
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Dermatology – Wound Healing Molecular Laboratory has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Postdoctoral Associate to work in Miami, Florida.
CORE JOB SUMMARYThe Postdoctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Postdoctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS- Conducts research on specific areas of study as assigned.
- Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.
- Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.
- Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
- Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

- Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
- The Sr. Postdoctoral Research Fellow takes responsibility for conducting assigned and/or original research projects autonomously and supervising defined research projects according to the PI’s instructions.
- Performs molecular biology and cell biology techniques such as nucleic acid extraction and manipulation, PCR, RT-PCR, Western blot analysis, immunostaining, cell culture, cell transfections, cell sorting.
- Performs Omics (transcriptomic and proteomic) experiments and computational data analyses of next generation sequencing data and MS and O-Link proteomics data.
- Remains informed and up-to-date relative to current publications relating to the area of research.
- Maintains accurate records of research findings and the analysis of results.
- Assists in the preparation of manuscripts for publication and grant applications.
- Presents research findings internally and UM and at professional meetings.
- Mentors students, technicians, and junior postdocs in basic and clinical aspects of translational research.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Doctorate degree in relevant field required.
Experience: No previous experience required.
