Position: Post Doctoral Associate - PQ6 Project

Post Doctoral Associate – Microbiology & Immunology

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine invites applications for a Post Doctoral Associate position in the laboratory of Dr. Noula Shembade. The incumbent will conduct scientific research on KSHV and HIV interactions in the context of HIV/AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma, working with cell/tissue culture, EcoHIV, and immunodeficient and immunocompetent animal models.

Responsibilities

Conduct research on specific areas of study as assigned.

Prepare research reports and technical papers for publishing.

Investigate the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.

Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.

Develop advanced analytical models and systems; provide solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.

Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.

Qualifications

Ph.D. required.
Prior experience is preferred but not required.
Strong background in molecular/cellular biology, virology, innate immunity, signal transduction, and cancer animal models.
Experience working with knockout mice, nude/SCID mice or PDX mice, and viral infection models is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
