CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Research Laboratory oversees the day-to-day operations of the research laboratory, including maintenance and upkeep and ensuring an efficient and effective laboratory working environment.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONSEducation:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required

Optimizes day-to-day operations and processes for efficiency and effectiveness. - Organizational Development:
Ability to implement strategies to improve organizational effectiveness, engagement, and manage change. - Financial Oversight:
Knowledge of financial operations and management. - Team Leadership:
Ability to create and maintain a cohesive and productive team environment, build positive working relationships and work collaboratively with others. - Technical Proficiency:
Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications. - Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
Oversee day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring optimal functioning for research. Collaborate with principal investigators and researchers to plan and execute experiments. Organize and maintain research data, ensuring proper documentation and reproducibility of research findings. Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of lab equipment, particularly for tools used assays and imaging. Manage lab inventory, including ordering and stocking reagents, consumables, and other supplies critical for research.
Maintain laboratory compliance with safety regulations, biosafety standards, and institutional policies. Train and supervise lab staff, technicians, and students in research techniques and safety protocols. Foster an environment of collaboration among team members and liaise with external collaborators. Mentorship:
Provide technical and administrative support to junior researchers and students working on research projects. Assist in preparing grant applications and progress reports for research funding. Oversee lab budget, ensuring efficient allocation of funds for research needs. Coordinate manuscript preparation by managing figures, tables, and references for research papers. Manage the collection, storage, and processing of tissue samples for molecular and histological studies.
Collaborate with clinical teams to align lab research with translational goals in treatment.
