Postdoctoral Associate

Department Specific Functions
- Work closely with Principal Investigators, Project Directors, biostatisticians, and research staff to develop and refine scientific research questions, study aims, and analytic strategies for investigator-initiated and NIH-funded research projects.
- Lead the development of research concept proposals, concept sheets, study protocols, analysis plans, and related scientific documents for multisite and single-site clinical and epidemiologic research studies.
- Conduct literature reviews and synthesize scientific evidence to support hypothesis generation, study design, manuscript preparation, grant applications, and presentation development.
- Collaborate with investigators and biostatisticians in the identification of variables, development of analytic approaches, interpretation of study findings, and preparation of statistical analysis plans.
- Prepare manuscripts, abstracts, conference presentations, posters, and reports for submission to peer-reviewed journals and scientific meetings.
- Contribute to the preparation of NIH grant applications, career development awards, pilot proposals, research supplements, progress reports, and other funding-related materials.
- Assist investigators in navigating scientific review processes, including concept review committees, scientific working groups, protocol review committees, and manuscript development processes.
- Participate in scientific working groups, investigator meetings, and collaborative research initiatives across local, national, and international research networks.
- Develop and maintain expertise in HIV science, infectious diseases, epidemiology, implementation science, clinical research methods, biostatistics, and related disciplinary areas relevant to ongoing research programs.
- Present research findings at local, national, and international scientific meetings and contribute to dissemination activities targeting academic, clinical, and community audiences.
- Provide mentorship and scientific guidance to research coordinators, research associates, students, and research trainees participating in departmental research activities.
- Collaborate with study teams to ensure scientific rigor, reproducibility, regulatory compliance, data integrity, and adherence to sponsor and institutional requirements throughout the research lifecycle.
