The Role

Assistant General Manager Miami

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will create passion and enthusiasm for the company vision "To be the most loved and best run restaurant in North America". They will ensure that standards are executed flawlessly throughout restaurant operations daily and bring wisdom and experience that other GMs will gravitate towards. The AGM is responsible for the overall smooth operation of the restaurant, bar and kitchen, delivering outstanding food quality and service excellence through teamwork, motivation and strong leadership.

The AGM also partners with the kitchen as a mentor to staff and leadership teams regarding food standards, guest service models, bill times and quality.

Key Activities:

  • Responsible for creating and enhancing a restaurant culture as a #2 in command that drives excellence in hospitality, including top-line revenues, service standards, quality from culinary and bar teams, culture, morale, and profit management to achieve financial goals.
  • Establish, direct and review performance standards with front-of-house teams to ensure every guest has a consistent, exceptional experience.
  • Monitor and coordinate standards within the building to support a timeless environment across the operation.
  • Establish, direct and review beverage concepts to ensure accountability, quality, presentation and service performance.
  • Work with approved budgets and operate within guidelines regarding costs, expenses, sales and profits.
  • Directly oversee recruitment, training, development and mentoring of current leaders.
  • Involve in and follow up on all disciplinary action and performance management of the management team regarding HR components.
  • Conduct frequent audits to ensure excellence in all areas.
  • Handle or assist with guest-related complaints and coordinate proper follow up.
  • Work the restaurant daily during peak periods to build the business.
  • Part of weekly financial and operational reporting; review variances from budgeted figures and ensure practices meet or exceed yearly targets.
  • Monitor restaurant expenses to ensure cost-containment practices, mentored by the GM in this area.
  • Evaluate training procedures to ensure all employees contribute to a high level of guest experience.
  • Champion recognition and motivation efforts to be the employer of choice in North America.
  • Project manage multiple programs and priorities with the leadership team.
  • Coach the team on restaurant execution as a way of life.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the team and the community.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of operational success, with proven multi-year success as a senior restaurant manager.
  • Excellent knowledge and skills with computer desktop systems (Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word) and POS systems.
  • Knowledge of the casual dining market in the community.
  • Exceptional work ethic, with highly detailed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging goals.
  • Initiative and strong multi-tasking ability.
  • Strong rapport and presentation skills.
  • A college or university degree in hospitality, restaurants and culinary arts, or equivalent; business education is an asset.
Financial Compensation
  • $60,000 - $80,000 salary
  • Strong bonus program - up to $20,000/year
