Position: Sales Floor Lead (2917)

Summary

In conjunction with the Supervisor and Assistant Store Manager, the Floor Lead is responsible for overseeing all areas of the sales floor, including maximizing sales, delivering excellent customer service, maintaining visual presentation standards, and managing the front‑end area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sales
  • Assist the Supervisor and Assistant Store Manager in successfully maintaining the sales floor and sales goals, front‑end and visual, per customer standards.
  • Ensure that production goals are met or exceeded consistently.
  • Improve sales performance through proper merchandise rotation, visual merchandising, signage, and optimal inventory levels.
  • Ensure the store consistently meets or exceeds sales goals.
  • Provide quality customer service promptly and courteously to all shoppers, donors, and employees.
  • Maintain the floor appearance, cleanliness, and shopping environment, including floor care, fitting rooms, cash registers, customer service areas, aisles, trash cans, lights, restrooms, glass showcases, window ledges, and doors.
  • Keep front‑end areas clean and working, ensuring doors, odor control systems, cash registers, and restrooms function correctly.
  • Assist in maintaining the appearance of the building exterior and parking lot, including windows, doors, sidewalks, parking lot lights, dumpster area, landscape, shopping cart retrieval, store entry, and signage.
  • Ensure the monthly store audit achieves a passing score of at least 90%.
  • Understand how donations and production relate to sales.
  • To qualify for promotion to Supervisor, have worked in all areas of the store.
Sales Floor and Visual
  • Ensure associates place Z‑racks on the sales floor every 30–45 minutes and that the floor is appropriately colorized and sized.
  • Ensure textiles are correctly classified on the sales floor.
  • Fit rooms are appropriately attended to and cleaned up after each customer.
  • Follow the rotation schedule to ensure that no inactive colors are on the sales floor; ensure all visual displays are correctly done.
  • Replace mannequin items with new ones when sold.
  • Ensure associates always use their name tags; ensure H‑racks and 4‑ways are full to maximum capacity.
  • Identify any damaged merchandise on the floor, wares, shoes, textiles, etc.
  • Be aware of surroundings for loss prevention issues; ensure cash registers are adequately staffed.
  • Ensure a fast, efficient flow of customers at the registers; ensure all registers have correct change and necessary supplies; fill voids according to policies and procedures.
  • Count and verify all cashiers’ tills at the end of their shift; report any discrepancy; ensure cashiers meet their daily sales quota.
  • Conduct register readings at 12:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m.
  • Ensure all credit card transactions are completed correctly and accurately; adhere to the electrical return policy.
  • Train new cashiers as well as additional staff.
  • Mentor and motivate to ensure a pleasant work environment.
Loss Prevention
  • Keep premises clean and free of safety hazards; ensure staff understands and follows safety procedures.
  • Report, investigate, and correct loss prevention matters promptly.
  • Ensure proper operation of store security, including door locks, alarms, office doors, bank deposits, refunds, safes, and incident reports.
  • Enforce cash handling procedures and submit required reports.
Miscellaneous Duties
  • Provide an efficient and effective workforce; maintain morale.
  • Communicate store reports, personnel status changes, and rehabilitation information accurately and promptly.
  • Effectively manage the assigned store to ensure staff adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adequate utilization of Human Resources (HR) to maintain discipline effectively.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education preferred.
  • Good math skills.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in retail and one year in a supervisory capacity.
  • High level of integrity and business ethics.
  • Computer literate.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in English (oral and written).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
