Store Manager In Training (SMIT)

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program develops future CVS store leaders over a 16‑week self‑paced, collaborative training. You’ll gain experience in customer care, merchandising, inventory management, and leadership under support from your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate verbally and in writing to support and lead your team.
  • Provide customer care that delivers high levels of service.
  • Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  • Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
  • Actively engage with your leader in Key Learning Experiences to support you on your path to promotion.
  • Serve as a management team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
  • Engage colleagues in support of the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
  • Be willing to accept promotion roles within the designated market.
Qualifications
  • Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location within the designated market.
  • Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores in the designated market.
  • Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred; relevant work experience may be considered).
  • Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.

  • Anticipated weekly hours: 45 hours

  • Pay range: $18.50 – $26.25 per hour
