Backroom Receiving & Inventory Specialist

Summary

The Receiving Support Associate is responsible for supporting incoming merchandise intake and the back-of-house operations at a retail store location. This role involves unloading shipments, verifying contents against invoices, and preparing inventory for the sales floor. The position works closely with store operations and stock teams to maintain accurate inventory and efficient receiving processes.

Responsibilities

• Unload and receive incoming shipments, checking items against packing lists and invoices.
• Sort, label, and process merchandise for storage or transfer to the sales floor.
• Operate pallet jacks and hand trucks safely to move product within the backroom.
• Maintain organized stockroom areas and assist with periodic inventory counts.
• Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or shortages to management and complete required paperwork.

Requirements

• Prior retail receiving, warehouse, or stock experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and move heavy boxes and merchandise (frequent lifting up to company-stated limits).
• Basic math skills and attention to detail for verifying shipments and invoices.
• Comfortable using handheld scanners or inventory devices and following store processes.
• Reliable attendance and flexibility to work a part-time retail schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
