Funding Specialist | Miami, FL | Full-time (On-Site) Uncapped Commissions, Career Growth, Full Benefits

Idea Financial is looking for a Sr. or Jr. Funding Specialist to join our high-performing Direct sales team. This is a customer facing role for someone who has spent meaningful time on the broker, sales or funder side of small business lending and knows how to manage a portfolio of merchants: d riving activation, production, and retention  will report to the Head of Sales and work alongside other brokers to prospect, fund and retain our rapidly growing client list.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role. Success is measured by your ability to drive funded volume, grow merchant engagement across the book you own, and consistently deliver against monthly sales goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of merchants; drive activation, retention, and renewals.
  • Represent Idea Financial professionally in every merchant interaction to deepen engagement, productivity, and profitability.
  • Educate applicants on our products, Line of Credit and Term Loan, including credit & submission requirements, and what our value proposition and key differentiators are from other lenders.
  • Work cross-functionally with partner underwriting teams to move deals quickly from submission to funding.
  • Position & pitch offers to merchants when needed and troubleshoot stips in real time.
  • Strategize and consult with merchants to ensure a best-in-class service experience that makes Idea Financial their lender of choice.
  • Utilize Salesforce to manage your pipeline, log activity, and forecast accurately.
  • Deliver consistent, timely responses across your book and set the standard for borrower communications
  • Provide feedback to leadership on merchant needs, competitive intel, and product or process improvements.
The Ideal Candidate
  • A minimum of 2 years of industry experience in small business lending, commercial finance, or alternative lending.
  • Prior experience in a broker or funder setting where you were responsible for managing a portfolio of merchants or broker partners, driving consistent submissions and growing funded volume across the book.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle the demands of a high-volume applicant channel; juggling numerous active deals, prioritizing effectively, and keeping engagement high across the portfolio.
  • Strong working knowledge of credit, bank statement analysis, and the typical stips and underwriting questions that come up on small business deals.
  • Proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales goals in a commission-driven environment.
  • A well-developed network of merchant contacts in the industry is a plus, strong relationships help you hit the ground running.
  • Honest, self-motivated, competitive, high-energy, and a team player.
  • An efficient relationship builder who thrives on engagement and driving results.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; you can run a book without things falling throu9gh the cracks.
  • Salesforce experience is a plus.

Job Status: Full-time, office-based in Miami, FL

Reports to: Head of Direct Sales

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST

Compensation: Competitive base + uncapped commissions + full benefits
