Sales Representative - CT

Dal‑Tile, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries, is the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States. We are looking for a dynamic Outside Sales Representative to increase market share by servicing existing customers and expanding our account base through cold calling.

Increase market share and sales for the Dal‑Tile Counter top in the prescribed region/area. Expand the account base through servicing existing customers and cold calling.

• Conduct weekly sales calls, including servicing existing customers and making an average of 4–5 cold calls per week.
• Prepare weekly sales and call reports.
• Develop monthly strategy for sales calls and prepare monthly travel calendar based on that strategy.
• Conduct area market analysis of top accounts in each area – including top dealers, contractors, and builders.
• Research area market product data to determine the types, styles, and sizes most purchased in the area to determine sales strategy.
• Grow market share by increasing sales and sales volume while maintaining company‑approved product margin goals.
• Complete “Positive Action Forms” for all cold calls resulting in a display, rack, and/or sale.
• Utilize influence and negotiation skills to sell and/or place displays in customer’s showrooms.
• Conduct client follow‑ups via phone calls, letters, and/or emails.
• Establish and maintain client files and perform timely follow‑up on programs and projects.
• Provide PK seminars to customers.
• Utilize “On Demand” reporting to achieve sales objectives.
• Perform other duties as required.

• High school diploma; some college is highly preferred.
• Computer skills: functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes/email.
• Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• 4 years of prior selling experience.
• Prior customer service experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to work independently in an unstructured, unsupervised environment.
• Self‑motivated with strong verbal and written communication, influencing, negotiation, time‑management, and organizational skills.

• Required to stand, use hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit, climb, balance, talk, or hear regularly.
• Can see close and peripheral vision and adjust focus.
• May need to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
