Advertising Account Executive, Market Retail

Job Summary

Responsible for developing, servicing and maintaining a base of local clients and/or agencies that purchase advertising space or other media services, to achieve established annual sales goals within a assigned sales team. Offers zone buying to allow small advertisers the opportunity to reach only the customers in their retail trading areas.

• Analyze, develop and present market research and advertising proposals to support client activities and products.
• Assist in developing marketing activities to generate local ad sales revenue.
• Interact with various internal departments to carry out client requirements such as scheduling advertising, monitoring account activities, and managing collections.
• Maintain up-to-date customer and prospect records and participate in the development of sales forecasts.
• Complete required documentation and reporting for the proper processing of contracts, advertising schedules, sales calls and expense reports.
• Seek new customers by continuously prospecting following company‑planned sales strategies and tactics.
• Analyze confidential information, prepare reports, manuals, agendas and general correspondence.
• Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Maintain regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
• Work nights, weekends, variable schedules and overtime as necessary.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Relevant work experience: 2‑5 years in sales or related field.
• Strong communication, organizational and negotiation skills.

• Business and sales knowledge.
• Sales calls, objectives and revenue generation.
