The Business Development Coordinator supports the firm's business development and client development initiatives by partnering with attorneys, practice groups and the Marketing & Business Development team to execute strategic business development activities. This role provides coordination and support for client and market research, pitches and proposals, CRM maintenance, events, sponsor ships and other initiatives that strengthen client relationships and advance the firm's business development objectives.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, attorney-facing environment.
- Assist with the implementation of business development initiatives for practice groups and attorneys.
- Help maintain lists of priority clients, prospects and business development targets.
- Provide administrative support for day-to-day business development activities.
- Enter, update and maintain client, prospect and opportunity information in the firm's CRM system, ensuring data accuracy through routine maintenance, contact updates and opportunity tracking.
- Assist with preparing business development reports and spreadsheets for attorneys and the Marketing & Business Development team.
- Drafts and compiles information for pitches, proposals, presentations and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Maintain and update attorney biographies, representative experience, practice descriptions, experiences and other business development materials.
- Track proposal and pitch submissions and maintain related records.
- Conduct basic research on prospective clients, companies, and industries to support business development efforts.
- Prepare background materials for attorney meetings, client visits, and business development opportunities.
- Work with the Marketing team to support business development initiatives and marketing campaigns.
- Maintain business development templates, forms and other departmental resources.
- Coordinate logistics for client events, conferences, and sponsor ships, including registrations, event materials, sponsorship deliverables and post-event follow-up, such as CRM updates, contact management, and follow-up communications.
- Maintain and distribute client entertainment tickets and track ticket inventory and usage.
- Knowledge of grammatical rules for the English language and strong spelling skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from attorneys, clients, coworkers, and the public.
- Generally, core working hours are from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
- Physical attendance and punctuality at the workplace are required.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or a similar field.
- 2–4 years of experience in business development, sales support, or professional services, preferably in a law firm or similar environment.
- Familiarity with marketing professional services to the public, preferably to law firms, and consistent with attorney rules of professional responsibility.
- Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and preferred experience with CRM Management.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, typing/using a keyboard, and writing by hand.
- The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
