Core Job Summary
The Post Doctoral Scholar takes initiative and works independently in developing new research ideas and troubleshooting new assays. Further, the incumbent facilitates the training of students, residents, fellows, and other trainees. The Post Doctoral Scholar performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Scholar promotes institutional recognition through substantial contributions to the scientific community.
CoreJob Functions
- Assists in planning and designing research experiments, establishes priorities, and recommends schedules.
- Presents research findings at local and national scientific conferences.
- Writes technical publications and reports.
- Designs and writes programs to perform analysis and produces written reports on results.
- Collects pilot data to help support new and competing renewal applications.
- Supervises undergraduate and graduate research students and performs literature reviews.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Education:
MD or Ph.D. in relevant field.
Experience:
No Prior Experience Required.
- Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
