AP teams ensure guests, team members, and the brand are secure, preventing theft, fraud, and shortage while fostering partnerships with store leaders and law enforcement.

Key Skills & Experiences

• Surveillance and intelligence‑led tactics to reduce shortage.
• Use of Target video surveillance to monitor guests.
• Implementation of AP practices and routines.
• Documentation of cases and incidents.
• Resolution of external theft and fraud, and apprehensions.

Typical Responsibilities

• Support store sales and guest service by keeping products in stock.
• Resolve theft through judgment and apprehensions in shortage‑focus areas following AP policies.
• Identify theft trends using technology, reporting, and surveillance.
• Prevent theft by gathering intelligence and communicating issues.
• Operate video systems to monitor theft activity.
• Respond to incidents and document appropriately.
• Promote a security culture and provide awareness and training.
• Maintain inclusivity and respect diverse voices.
• Operate safely and comply with all safety policies.
• Develop positive relationships with public safety and law enforcement.
• Represent Target in legal proceedings as required.
• Complete other duties as business needs dictate.

• Communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Manage workload, prioritize tasks independently.
• Remain focused, composed, and accomplish multiple tasks promptly.
• Climb ladders, apprehend subjects per policy, handle merchandise up to 40 lb.
• Work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other environmental conditions.
• Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Capacity to work independently or with a team.
