The Security Supervisor will Lead an active shift, manage the on‑duty Security Guards and conduct investigation of reported Security and safety incidents. The Security Supervisor will collect statements from the persons involved, review and preserve evidence including CCTV, body camera footage, door lock reading and other physical evidence. The Security Supervisor will report all incidents that occurred during his shift using the incident management system, Complete Daily Security reports, supervise and manage the gangway access control and security screening operations, and will assist our Security Officer and Deputy Security Officer leading the Security team.

The Security Supervisor is responsible for implementing the company security policies for access control, investigation of incidents and managing the security crew under the supervision of the Ship's security officer. Excellent understanding of the company policies and a thorough knowledge of security policies are essential for this position. Excellent understanding of the Safety management system and the ship's emergency response plan including their role in the safety organization onboard.
The Security Supervisor will lead an active gangway shift during day or night and under the direction of the Ship Security Officer shall supervise all access control measures while in port. Maintenance and calibration of all security equipment under the direction of the Ship Security officer. The Security Supervisor will take an active part in managing and investigating incidents and accidents as directed by the Ship Security Officer.
The Security Supervisor shall prepare the work schedule for the security staff under the supervision of the Ship Security Officer. The Security Supervisor will lead an evening/night shift of security crew monitoring various public areas around the ship including night clubs, bars, pools and other functions taking place. The Security Supervisor is responsible for the timely reporting of any irregular situations, incidents or occurrences onboard to the Security officer.
The Security Supervisor will support the Ship Security Officer in training crew members on various topics related to Ship Security.
Required:
- At least 2 years of professional experience in either Military, Law enforcement or Physical security in a supervisory role. Prior supervisory experience in Cruise ship security is preferred.
- Must have good knowledge of various security equipment including checkpoint cargo X‑ray screening and metal detection, CCTV surveillance, Trace detection, Defensive Equipment and tactics.
- Knowledge of Access control and physical assessment of a Cruise Ship.
- Must have all required STCW certificates for this position.
- Knowledge of investigations, Interview techniques, statements, and managing of an incident.
- Experience in delivering training, presentations and administrating testing to crew.
- Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with all persons and use conflict resolution and mitigation techniques when needed and de‑escalate situations. Knowledge of common practices involved with security functions.
- Ability to manage direct reports in a positive and productive manner by motivating, developing and effectively managing employees.
- Ability to utilize and administer the company's disciplinary process through coaching and counseling to improve performance while maintaining Virgin Voyages values and integrity of the department.
- Must have great ability to navigate within a computerized environment including MS Office, Internet access, and a variety of software packages such as Google Suite, Surveillance software, Lock programming and various Database management apps.
