Job Summary

Ensures the security and safety of property, collections, staff, and visitors by executing all aspects of physical security and special events operations. Implements security policies and procedures and facility entry and egress access control. Conducts interior and exterior roving patrols of building areas and monitors and responds to emergency situations.

  • Implements safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Conducts patrols of interior, exterior, and surrounding property areas.
  • Responds appropriately to protect the facility, collections, staff, and visitors.
  • Prepares incident reports.
  • Monitors systems and identifies potential problems or threats to the collections, equipment, buildings, staff, and visitors.
  • Works with fire marshals, law enforcement, and contracted services as needed.
  • Coordinates security issues with study site security personnel.
  • Responsible for accompanying research participants between study site and FIU on a daily basis to ensure participants stay within assigned areas and act in an orderly manner.
  • Accesses research database, REDCap, to obtain participant information and visit information in order to check participants in for their research study appointments.
