National Security Risk Analyst
With the rapidly changing geopolitical environment, competition for sensitive technologies, and risks associated with potential exploitation of sensitive personal and business data, demand for national security-focused risk analysis and mitigation is growing significantly. Our team supports organizations, investors and counsel identifying, assessing and reducing national-security related risk. We focus on assisting with the national-security components of transaction diligence and design, embedding regulatory requirements into business systems and processes, and facilitating transparency between companies and regulators by leveraging data analytics and other tools.
The team also serves as fiduciary to U.S. government agencies in a role of either third-party monitor or third-party auditor.
- Working both independently and with team members as the project lead to successfully execute projects involving U.S. international trade and technology security controls, Defense Industrial Base (DIB)-related cybersecurity, and other national security-related compliance and program enhancement projects.
- Leading assessments of clients' trade and technology controls compliance posture, including assessments of compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, the Export Administration Regulations, and equivalent non-U.S. regulatory regimes
- Leading audits, assessments, and enhancement of clients' international trade, technology security, and foreign investment controls risk and compliance posture
- Developing and refining engagement approaches and project plans based on collaboration with team leadership and experience
- Independently interfacing with clients and delivering high-quality work product, specifically including compliance programs, policies, procedures, assessments, and reports
- Building industry-recognized subject matter expertise in the national security, international trade, and foreign investment review areas, particularly with respect to non-U.S. regimes, including keeping apace with developments in relevant regulations and policy, and producing timely, polished thought leadership.
- Professional and conceptual agility to design and execute compliance risk mitigation and information security solutions that are adaptive to client risks and requirements across multiple domains
- Helping clients navigate U.S. and allied country Government Security, international trade and technology control, and data security requirements
- Leading in development of collateral, thought leadership, marketing, and other market-facing projects
- Working on and leading in company internal projects and initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required. Advanced Degree strongly preferred. Specific focus/qualifications on international trade and investment controls strongly preferred
- Prior experience working as a compliance professional and/or national security professional and program leader in a company, professional services firm, or U.S. Government
- Demonstrated expertise in international trade compliance
- Excellent research and writing capabilities required. Candidates must be able to independently produce complete, polished work products.
- Must be proficient in using office productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Sharepoint, etc.)

Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $130,000 - $175,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
