Position: Male Armed CDL Transportation Officer ($1,000 Sign on Bonus) with Security Clearance

AIP is looking for an Armed Transportation Officer to work in Fort Meyers, Florida. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today! $1,000 sign‑on bonus is contingent upon completing a 6‑month probationary period with satisfactory attendance and performance, and no disciplinary issues.

Responsibilities
  • Performs duties related to the detention, processing, safeguarding, security, escort and transport of male detainees as required by the contract.
  • Exercises surveillance and control over male detainees to maintain order and discipline.
  • Enforces rules and regulations of the detention facility.
  • Provides care, custody and control of detainees.
  • Removes detainees from holding areas using proper restraints and security measures.
  • Guards detainees at deportation or exclusion hearings, during transport, and while receiving medical care.
  • Wields an authorized intermediate weapon in accordance with service‑approved Use of Force policy.
  • Inspects, maintains, and cares for authorized equipment including, but not limited to:
  • One approved semi‑automatic pistol with an appropriate duty belt and magazines.
  • All magazines loaded to full capacity.
  • Handcuffs, leg irons, keys, waist chains, black boxes, and restraint keys.
  • Ballistic vests that must be worn at all times while performing armed officer duties.
  • Requalifies with weapon quarterly.
  • Makes official entries in the transportation and processing logbooks that are legible and complete.
  • Performs a security and sanitation check of the area prior to relieving the outgoing officer.
  • Performs complete vehicle inspections before and after every transportation route.
  • Inventories all equipment and notes the results in the logbook.
  • Receives all authorized equipment and ensures it is in proper working condition.
  • Ensures that the communication radio is in good working order with a fully charged battery.
  • Augments staff as needed in the Krome Service Processing Center operations as required.
  • Attends to housing, feeding, and the physical well‑being of detainees 24 hours a day.
  • Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
  • Completes all training and job requirements.
  • Follows company‑wide safety policies and practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting and monitoring as outlined in the Officer Handbook and other company safety policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 1 year of security, law enforcement, or military experience or a 4‑year accredited undergraduate or graduate education (used as a substitution of experience).
  • 3‑year clean driving record.
  • US citizen or a lawful permanent resident who has resided in the U.S. for the last five years.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Pass a criminal background check (no criminal record).
  • Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.
  • Pass all pre‑employment and random drug tests.
  • Pass a medical examination and meet health requirements.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Valid state driver’s license or CDL if transporting over 16 passengers.
  • Valid armed security G license from the state of Florida.
  • Ability to obtain a state security guard D license from the state of Florida.
  • Maintain current physical residency in the continental United States.
  • Strictly maintain physical fitness standards for law enforcement and CDL requirements.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with a diverse population, including people of different cultures, values, and lifestyles, with a cross‑cultural perspective.
  • Ability to greet and deal tactfully with the general public.
  • Capability of following and interpreting written and verbal orders, policies and regulations, printed rules and detailed instructions.
  • Proven ability to exercise good judgment, courage, alertness, and an even temperament, and render satisfactory performance through responsibilities.
  • Capability of composing written and oral reports.
  • Ability to maintain poise and self‑control during potential emergencies and unexpected situations that may involve mental and physical stress.
