Job Description
Apply your expertise as a Security Officer to support launch security operations, ensuring safety and compliance with federal security standards. Your role will involve protecting launch activities, providing security oversight, and supporting the Launch Security Operations Specialist (LSOS).
- Keep the Government Security Director updated on all matters regarding program security.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise on ICD‑705 Physical Security standards for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs).
- Oversee the development, construction, and operations of IC SCIFs, Secure Work Areas, Collateral Spaces, Temporary SCIFs, and Protected Distribution Systems.
- Lead stakeholder engagement in IC Physical Security accreditation processes.
- Understand and apply TEMPEST and Technical Security Countermeasure programs.
- Assist in developing and coordinating Launch Security Operation Working Group (LSOWG) meetings, including agendas, minutes, and after‑action items.
- Coordinate security reviews and author customer Launch Information Protection Guide (IPG).
- Present Security Awareness Training and Education (SATE) briefings.
- Serve as the government customer ombudsman for classification management issues/actions.
- Collaborate with launch community on integration/launch‑related activities, policy development, and associated matters.
- Interface with security stakeholders including SV SPOs and government customer Security personnel.
- Investigate security incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare Security Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documents related to asset handling and transportation.
- Assist with document control, asset management, and accountability.
- Apply knowledge of NISPOM, ICDs, JSIG, Executive Orders, acquisition security, classification management, and risk management.
- Communicate with senior leaders and internal/external personnel on significant matters requiring coordination and independent decision‑making.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, multimedia presentation skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Maintain attention to detail and organizational effectiveness.
- Utilize Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and customer databases such as DISS, Scattered Castles, and TALON.
- Travel to support other locations as required.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
- Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or equivalent education, professional training, or work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in security management.
- TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Strong communication and briefing skills.
- Self‑driven, results‑oriented, and capable of independent decision‑making.
