Position: ID and Building Security Access Representative

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Public Safety has an exciting opportunity for a full‑time  Building Security Access Representative.

Job Summary

The  Building Security Access Representative utilizes complex systems to monitor and provide access to campus buildings and transportation services. The  Building Security Access Representative serves as a liaison to faculty, staff, and facility managers to ensure the safety of facility occupants and guarantee the smooth operations of all facility functions and operations.

Core Responsibilities
  • Assists customers with Photo s, building access, parking, and public transportation.
  • Processes sales of s and accessories, parking and transit permits, parking validations, bicycle permits, and background checks.
  • Assists customers with replacing broken/lost access and transit cards.
  • Answers phone calls greeting students, faculty and staff and addressing and resolving issues through appropriate channels.
  • Adheres to proper telephone etiquette and use of call center software.
  • Monitors and responds to email inquiries received through two departmental email accounts, one for Parking and another one for Photo .
  • Assists customers with scheduling UM Transportation Department shuttles.
  • Processes and distributes daily reports including parking, transit, and access reports.
  • Reconciles daily credit card, check, IDR, payroll deduction and student account sales.
  • Files and scans department records.
  • Programs and troubleshoots s and access cards for campus locking systems.
  • Processes employment clearances.
  • Logs customer interaction notes in database.
  • Processes metal key requests and distribution to authorized individuals.
  • Maintains office inventory.
  • Works at the Emergency Hotline call center before, during, and/or after emergencies, including, but not limited to hurricanes.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
  • Categorized as Tier 1 emergency employee. Expected to work at the Emergency Hotline call center before, during, and/or after emergencies, including, but not limited to hurricanes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Core Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
