The UGE Laborer/Groundman supports the Construction team by preparing and cleaning construction sites, loading and unloading building materials, operating equipment and machines, and assisting craft workers with their tasks.
Responsibilities- Clean and prepare the construction site for work, removing debris and possible hazards.
- Assist the tradesmen in completing their skilled tasks more effectively.
- Identify utilities and monitor dig crews to prevent utility hits.
- Clean up and maintain equipment.
- Restock trucks with supplies to ensure crews have the proper tools and materials.
Minimum
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred
- 1 year of related experience.
- CDL Class A driver’s license.
This position operates in a field environment and requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and standing in inclement weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, wind). Precise hand‑eye coordination and the ability to judge distance and space are essential. The role is physically active and requires the ability to bend, lift, and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
