Facilities General Laborer
Transdev in Miami, FL is hiring a Facilities General Laborer. The Facilities General Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi‑skilled tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and operation of buildings, grounds, and facility infrastructure. This role supports general maintenance tasks, environmental cleanup, and emergency preparedness.
Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive compensation package of minimum $25.00 per hour ($52,000/year) – maximum $30.00 per hour ($62,400/year).

- Construct, install, and repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, and various fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Install and remove fencing along designated corridors.
- Perform concrete and asphalt repairs on streets, sidewalks, and other paved surfaces.
- Ensure compliance with all established safety regulations while maintaining a clean and hazard‑free work environment.
- Inspect ceiling and floor tiles, wall coverings, glass, and woodwork for damage or wear; report and repair as needed.
- Conduct light plumbing repairs such as unclogging drains, replacing fixtures, and minor leak fixes.
- Participate in hurricane preparedness and recovery efforts, including mobilization and securing of facilities.
- Operate hand tools and light equipment for general labor tasks.
- Perform environmental cleanup, including vegetation management and right‑of‑way clearing.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of carpentry experience.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety procedures.
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions – 100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to XX pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to items or equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
