HOW YOU’LL HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NATURAL GASThe I&C Technician performs installation, maintenance, repair, and calibration tasks on the company’s gas measurement equipment, including large meters, meter indexes, volume cor rectors, industrial AMR devices, and SCADA equipment. The role also coordinates all gate station instrumentation and control installations within the assigned territory (Jupiter to Miami area).
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years instrumentation & control experience. Related electrical, measurement, or regulation experience may be considered.
- Good understanding of electrical and electronic principles.
- Working knowledge of DOT requirements.
- Strong technical and computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain high customer satisfaction through reliable service.
- Effective verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate all gate station instrumentation and control installations with division and corporate personnel within the assigned territory.
- Install and maintain gas measurement equipment including large meters, meter indexes, cor rectors, industrial AMR devices, and SCADA equipment.
- Perform accuracy testing, calibration adjustments, and maintenance on gas measurement equipment and field SCADA devices.
- Respond to dropped or disconnected AMR calls; make repairs to AMR or telecommunications equipment.
- Plan, monitor, and perform preventative maintenance and emergency response maintenance as needed.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the communication link between field devices and corporate database servers.
- Construct new facilities and install modifications to existing facilities per engineering designs and instructions.
- Complete all required calibration documentation in the Work Management System, ensuring compliance with engineering principles and company policies.
- Ensure field facilities related to gas distribution and transmission pipelines comply with federal, state, and local electrical codes.
- Work closely with and monitor contractors, power utilities, and telephone utilities.
- 2‑year technical or related degree or equivalent.
- I&C or electrical related certifications.
- At least 5 years of instrumentation & control experience.
- Working knowledge of electronic corrector and RTU installations and maintenance.
- Occasional lifting (one to multiple times per month) – 75 lbs.
- Frequent lifting (one to multiple times per week) – 40 lbs.
- Repetitive lifting (one to multiple times per day) – 40 lbs.
- Carrying – 50 lbs.
- Pulling/pushing – 75 lbs.
- Reaching overhead – 25 lbs.
- Reaching away from body – 10 lbs.
- Pinching/gripping – hand tools, manual equipment, etc.
- Manual dexterity – typing, testing, writing, etc.

- Detect normal concentrations of natural gas odorant.
- Vision acceptable under DOT guidelines 49 CFR 391.41(b)(10).
