What You’ll Do
Job Summary
The Gas/Diesel Mechanic Level A is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, comprehensive mechanical and electrical repairs on commercial trucks and box trucks. This role ensures fleet and customer vehicle safety, reliability, performance, and regulatory compliance. Opportunity to use exceptional skills and knowledge to support overall business goals while mentoring and developing other technicians. Will work very close with management team to provide insight on overall shop operations.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicle systems including drivetrain, brakes, suspension, HVAC, and electrical components.
- Perform preventative maintenance services such as inspections, lubrication, and fluid/filter changes.
- Conduct safety, emissions, clutch, brake, steering, suspension, and 5th wheel inspections and repairs as authorized.
- Safely operate tools and diagnostic equipment while maintaining compliance with DOT, company safety standards, and a clean work environment.
- Accurately document repairs and inspections, communicate shop concerns to management, and support team operations as needed.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience servicing light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks, including preventative maintenance and diagnostics.
- Strong knowledge of brake, drivetrain, suspension, electrical, and OEM repair systems;
Isuzu and Hino experience preferred. - Experience performing brake jobs, 5th wheel repairs, and box truck electrical system repairs preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred) with ability to pass pre-employment and random DOT drug screenings.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 75 lbs; high school diploma/GED and ASE certifications are a plus.
- Work on industry-leading Isuzu and Hino trucks.
