WISE operates a fully equipped in house training lab and classroom at our facility.
Our lab includes multiple live Fire Alarm control panels and systems from different manufacturers. Technicians train on real equipment, practice programming, simulate troubleshooting, and gain hands on experience in a controlled environment.
Most companies do not invest in this level of internal training capability.

Position OverviewThe Fire Alarm Service Technician is responsible for installation, service, inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Fire Alarm Systems in compliance with NFPA 72, NEC, OSHA, and local AHJ requirements.
This role is ideal for candidates who may start at a developing level but want fast growth through structured training, certifications, and performance based advancement.
Core Responsibilities Installation and Programming- Install fire alarm panels, detectors, notification devices, and related systems
- Program and configure fire alarm control panels and devices according to design specifications
- Run wiring and conduit for system installations
- Verify device addressing and system configuration
- Work closely with project managers, electricians, and other technicians
- Perform routine inspections and functional tests of fire alarm systems
- Verify operation of detectors, pull stations, strobes, horns, and other devices
- Clean, test, and calibrate smoke and heat detectors
- Maintain backup batteries and power supplies in optimal condition
- Conduct scheduled maintenance to ensure systems remain operational
- Record inspection, testing, and maintenance results in digital reports
- Provide documentation required by fire marshals and safety authorities
- Diagnose and repair system faults, wiring issues, or defective devices
- Replace malfunctioning components such as smoke detectors, modules, or power supplies
- Respond to emergency service calls for system failures
- Report deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
- Communicate system status, issues, and recommendations clearly to clients
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 72, local fire codes, and company standards
- Follow all electrical safety practices and OSHA requirements
- Ensure systems meet insurance and regulatory requirements
- Adhere to company policies and documentation standards
Represent the company professionally at customer sites, provide basic training to building staff when required, stay updated on new fire alarm technology, products, and code changes, and participate in ongoing training to maintain certifications and technical skills.
Technical Skills Preferred (but not required)- Experience installing and servicing addressable and conventional Fire Alarm Systems
- Ability to read plans, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and device layouts
- Understanding of initiating circuits, notification circuits, relays, and modules
- Familiarity with NFPA 72 and NEC requirements
- Basic network knowledge is a plus
- Experience with BDA or ERCES systems is a plus
- Experience with:
Autocall, Johnson Controls, Simplex, Honeywell, Notifier, Fire Lite, Silent Knight, Mircom
- 1 to 3 years Fire Alarm or electrical experience preferred
- Trade school or military technical background welcomed
- NICET Certification preferred but not required to start
- Florida FASA or BASA license is a plus
- Valid Florida driver license with clean record
