The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Perform all the duties of an HVAC Technician.
  • Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
  • Communicate with guests and staff to resolve any HVAC maintenance issues throughout the company property.
  • Makes periodic rounds to all area to support equipment and maintains operating log of conditions observed.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines.
  • Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for building.
  • Display basic computer skills including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.
  • Perform preventative maintenance for all HVAC units and refrigerators.
  • When required perform basic repairs and troubleshooting like plumbing, electrical components, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and bulbs, and other guest room items.
  • Perform any other general building maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Plans projects or completes entire projects of moderate complexity.
  • Works independently on special projects.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Assist with training and mentor others HVAC tech (e.g., HVAC I)
  • Ensure safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks

Work Experience & Education Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • A minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must have completed a certification in Air Conditioning;
  • And/or at least three (3) years of previous related experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in Cold Storage, chilled water plant, FAHU (Fresh Air Handling Unit), FCU (Fan Coil Unit) and AHU (Air Handling Unit), hotel industry person will be preferred.
  • ITI or diploma holder in Air conditioning and refrigeration. Or 2 years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling, required.
  • Be able to read blueprints
  • Working knowledge of refrigerants used in commercial and residential applications, with demonstrated customer services skills.

    Skills:

    Good verbal and oral skills, some computer knowledge.
