Example of Duties
The Hotel Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems and fixtures throughout the hotel property. This role ensures that all plumbing systems are functioning efficiently and effectively, providing exceptional service to maintain guest satisfaction and the property's operational standards.
Essential FunctionsCollaboration:
Work collaboratively with other maintenance staff and departments to support overall hotel operations. Assist in training and mentoring junior staff or apprentices as needed.
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
- Performs other duties as required, special orders, buffet presentation, VIP parties, writing specialty menus for promotions, etc.
- Supervises daily cleaning, inventorying of walk‑in and reach‑in boxes.
OSHA laws require the use of the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that have the potential of risk to your health or safety. Associates will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE. The hotel provides the required PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Associate.
Exposure to various weather conditions, chemicals, and potential hazards associated with plumbing work. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors, depending on the plumbing needs of the hotel.
- Considerable knowledge of paint, varnish, stain, enamels, lacquers, wall coverings, masonry work and other related products as well as application and mixing procedures of such products.
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and application for working with chemicals.
- English language communication skills in order to fully comprehend job assignments.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and equipment.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy tools and materials.
- Capability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
- Dexterity and manual skills for handling plumbing tools and equipment.
