A leading Heavy Equipment Rental and Service company is currently seeking a Forklift Technician to work in the Tri-County area. This company specializes in providing heavy equipment services to the construction and industrial sectors. Responsibilities:
* Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify and resolve failures in all systems and components.
* Inspect equipment to detect potential issues and safety hazards.
* Maintain parts and supplies needed for job completion.
* Conduct regular maintenance to ensure equipment operates in line with manufacturer specifications.
* Keep the company vehicle clean and in safe working order; complete required vehicle checklist.
* Document maintenance and repair work accurately and submit the necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
* Ensure availability of parts and supplies required for job completion.
* Rebuild and/or repair all components and systems in equipment.
* Diagnose and repair various equipment, including engines (liquid propane, gas, and diesel), electric motors, transmissions, drive axles, differentials, hydraulic and brake systems, steering, electrical systems, lifting mechanisms, and more.
* Follow company safety protocols to safely block, chock, and chain equipment, and dismantle machinery as needed for the removal and repair of major components.
Qualifications:
* 2+ years of experience in forklift repair.
* Must have electrical/troubleshooting experience -- hydraulics are preferred.
* Valid Driver's license is required.
* High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
* Must have Valid DL.
* Proficient in reading schematics and precision tools, including micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and similar instruments.
* Must have basic computer knowledge. Preferred:
* Previous welding and/or fabricating experience is a plus.
* Mechanical or trade school certificate is a plus.
