Job Description
As a Fitter Apprentice at Honeywell, you will embark on a hands‑on learning journey to develop your skills in fitting, assembling, and maintaining mechanical components and systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and technical knowledge in a dynamic industrial environment, setting the foundation for a successful career in mechanical trades.
Location & ReportingYou will report directly to our Sr Field Service Manager and work out of our Miami, FL location on an on‑site work schedule. In this role you will impact the efficiency and reliability of our production and maintenance operations by ensuring that mechanical assemblies and equipment are installed and maintained to the highest standards, contributing to overall operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Assist with installing HVAC systems including furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, piping, and controls
- Support maintenance and repair tasks such as cleaning components, replacing filters, belts, and basic parts
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Assist with system testing, start‑up, and troubleshooting under supervision
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at job sites
- Follow all OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and customers
- Complete required apprenticeship classroom training and coursework
- Accurately document work performed, materials used, and training hours
- High school diploma or GED
- HVAC Certification or enrollment in or eligibility for a registered HVAC apprenticeship program in New Hampshire
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a skilled trade
- Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, rooftops, and in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and climb for extended periods
- Prior experience in construction, mechanical work, or trade school coursework
- Basic math skills and ability to measure accurately
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- OSHA‑10 certification (or willingness to obtain)
