Certified Copier Field Service Technician
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $17–$22+/hour (based on experience)
Position OverviewOur client is seeking a dependable, customer-focused Certified Copier Field Service Technician to join their team. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing multifunction copiers, printers, and related office equipment at customer locations. The ideal candidate has strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service abilities, and experience working independently in a field service environment.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair multifunction copiers, printers, and related office equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and connectivity issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance to maximize equipment performance and reliability.
- Configure and support basic network connectivity, print drivers, and scanning functions.
- Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Manage vehicle inventory and maintain an organized stock of parts and supplies.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding service updates, repairs, and recommendations.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Manage daily service calls and respond efficiently to customer needs.
- 3+ years of experience servicing and repairing office copiers and printers in a field service environment.
- Manufacturer certifications preferred (Ricoh, Sharp, Brother, or similar).
- Working knowledge of Windows, macOS, TCP/IP networking, print drivers, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Ability to read service manuals and utilize diagnostic software.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various customer environments.
- Experience with Managed Print Services (MPS).
- Familiarity with scan-to-email, scan-to-folder, and network printing configurations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily service schedule.
