the work you will do:

automotive equipment mechanic ii/ district 6 director of operations/maintenance/ south dade shop.

this position will perform skilled work in the diagnosis, repair, overhaul and replacement of gasoline or diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes, electrical systems, and other major components in automobiles, trucks, heavy equipment, and other related equipment. Field test vehicles. Repairs, changes and balances tires. Performs preventative maintenance, responds to emergency road service calls. Performs minor welding, paint and body repairs. Complies with all waste generation, storage, and disposal laws, rules and policies.

a competitive area differential (cad) additive in the amount of $1,976.00 will be added to the annual salary.

your specific responsibilities:

performs skilled work in the diagnosis, repair, overhaul and replacement of gasoline or diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and other parts and major components in automobiles, trucks, heavy equipment, and other related equipment. Field test vehicles and equipment to ensure the repairs have been satisfactorily completed. Repairs, changes, and balances tires on automotive and heavy equipment.

performs preventative maintenance work to ensure that equipment is maintained and is in proper working order. Performs periodic maintenance, repair, and preparation of seasonal equipment.

responds to emergency road service calls and performs minor repairs to vehicles and equipment. Cleans up after repairs and returns tools to their proper location. Performs minor welding, paint and body repairs as needed.
