Job Description

As a Lead Fire Alarm Technician here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, and troubleshooting fire protection and life-safety systems. You will also provide leadership, training, and quality oversight within the fire protection team. You will report directly to our Field Service Supervisor, and you’ll work out of our Miami, FL location on an On-site work schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Installation & Commissioning
  • Install fire alarm panels, notification appliances, detectors, and suppression system
  • components.
  • Program fire alarm control units and integrate them with other building systems.
  • Perform system commissioning, testing, and final acceptance walkthroughs.
  • Inspection & Testing
  • Conduct inspections in accordance with NFPA codes (e.g., NFPA 72, NFPA 25, NFPA 2001).
  • Test alarm and suppression systems, including smoke detectors, pull stations, sprinklers, pumps, and clean agent systems.
  • Document findings and provide detailed inspection reports.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs
  • Diagnose faults in fire alarm, sprinkler, and suppression systems.
  • Repair or replace defective components.
  • Respond to urgent service calls and resolve system impairments.
  • Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure all work complies with local codes, AHJ requirements, and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection forms, and deficiency reports.
  • Communicate system issues and compliance status to building owners and facility managers.
Qualifications
  • 3 or more years of experience with major fire alarm and suppression system brands
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA fire protection standards.
  • Ability to work independently and supervise others effectively.
