Nature of WorkFull‑time temporary specialized paraprofessional work responsible for supporting and assisting in all Client Support Services functions. An employee in this class ensures adequate processing, placement and follow‑up for clients in all program areas. Independent judgment is exercised in performing specialized functions within general guidelines and policies. An incumbent should conduct research, analyze data and arrive at logical conclusions, reporting to a higher‑level administrator or designee.
EssentialFunctions
- Meeting with clients to determine program eligibility.
- Assisting clients with housing needs.
- Explaining and applying rules, regulations, and policies of the department and program guidelines to clients and landlords.
- Serving as a liaison between landlords and clients, following up and resolving any complaints.
- Composing letters informing landlords and/or clients about any changes in services, violations, disciplinary actions, etc.
- Conducting research for the purpose of tracking client support services.
- Preparing and distributing data through the use of software compatible with federal, state and local grant tracking systems.
- Researching and compiling data for special reports and projects.
- Providing client service assistance in line with the different programs.
- Performing other related work as required.
- A minimum of 60 college credits.
- Considerable two (2) years experience working directly with clients receiving assistance through the Section 8 and/or HOPWA programs.
- Proficiency in English/Spanish is preferred.
- OR – Equivalent combination of education and experience beyond a high‑school diploma or its equivalent and one (1) year of the required experience mentioned above.

- Proof of education in the form of a transcript showing a minimum of 60 college credits or its equivalent. Foreign diplomas/degrees must be submitted with a credential evaluation report from an approved agency. Translations of diplomas/degrees are not accepted. Audit/Academic reports are not accepted as substitutions for college transcripts.
- To qualify under the equivalency clause, applicant must provide proof of education in one or more of the following applicable forms: copy of high school diploma or equivalent, transcript showing at least 60 college credits, associate's degree or bachelor's degree or higher in an unrelated field.
- Approved Credential Evaluation Agencies: credential evaluation reports showing the United States equivalency for academic credentials earned in other countries may be provided by an accredited four‑year college or university in the United States, or a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), or a current member of the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE), or a recognized professional organization.
